how to keep a great poker face using the nlp technique of self hypnosis

now that one is great. have you ever seen a demo of the unbendalbe arm,
or a hypnotist stapleing people on each other which are in a deep
trance?

basically to do this, you do the same.

of course, fast start would be a deep relaxation anchor you already
have. if not, do the following:

close your eyes. focus on your face. go into a trance. relax
eeeeeveeeryyyy siiingleeee muscle in your face deeeeeply....

go ahead and speak to them (yes, i am suggesting you speak with your
face): explain why you want them to stay as relaxed as possible for the
next x hours. explain in positive and negative terms why and what is in
it for them.

then tell them to relax as much as possible and only act when you want
them to, consciously, for the next few hours.

now you got a poker face, booooy. you will see the trained eyes of
players helplessly wandering over your face, trying to find a hint, a
tell, bursting into tears because they cant find nuffin there: - )

remember to set a time limit there, as you otherwise need to undo that
stasis manually.

one of the next entries will be about why gus hanson looks like in a
deep trance when playing in the top tournaments (and yes, that was
intended to be a hint there!)

yet another way of how to use the NLP technique of anchoring in poker

tonight, when playing a game of standard poker with some friends, and
practicing some nlp techniques, basically looking for applications of
the lot like the NLP meta model, submodality work and - my absolut
favourite - timeline work (yes, in poker, and it is sooo much fun!!!),
i came up with some more uses of anchoring, one of which i will put
down now:

there are two kinds of general directions you can go, when deciding,
which emotions to anchor to a specific action: the good ones, and the
bad ones.

as there is so much out there on good anchors and good push yourself
forward til you drop over the cliff-anchors, here is another bad
anchor, put to good use:

you may know this from sight: when someone calls, you have to put your
cards down, to show what you have. now, you can of course put 2 cards
down to show what you have. what you create here is an open loop (see
advanced hypnosis techniques and e.g. Richard Bandlers DVD on "nested
loops"), because the competitor want to know what is in the other
cards. you have a lot of response potential, and a lot of control in
the way that you put the other 3 cards down, aside, hold them, play
with them etc.

now of course, best is when you have good cards still in your hand,
e.g. you put down a pair of 3s and you still have a pair of kings or
so. (and yes, i know about statistics, just for the example here).

you wait. you let the other put his cards down, and it doesnt matter if
he has the better cards, though it will work best if you overwin him
with the second part of your hand, after he thought he would have won.
here is how to establish the anchor:

he puts down his cards. he thinks he has won. he builds good emotions
up. now you create that anchor, e.g. by making a certain statement like
a well timed or well stressed "Well..." or "Aha..." or "That is what
you have..." or "Richard Bandler once won a R&D company in a poker
game, you knew that?" and put down your (superior) cards. what happens
now is that he good feeling collapses into a bad feeling for him, the
better the timing is, the better the anchor will work.

now, next time you are working a bluff, apart from putting your face in
hypnotic stasis, using NLP milton patterns aaaaaall the tiiiiime and
looking at/pacing the competitors breath to see when they speed up and
to pass time, when he goes like "yeah, i have a good hand", you go
"Well..." or "Aha..." or "That is what you have..." (do not go up here
with the voice inflection here, if you did not before- it is about
triggering the anchor, not about asking a question) and totally blow
away his confidence.

stay congruent while doing so, the stasis helps. you might also set an
anchor for confidence you trigger every time you have to look
confident... but that is a different entry.

one of the next entries will be about that one.

one more thing: in our work on the NLP meta program DVD project (How to
see and pace nlp meta programs. the secrets of Your fast and easy
application, we did a free report in which you can test your ability to
find meta programs in the word-by-word-transcript of interviews we did.

how to use the nlp technique of pacing vakog to guide people into a trance and practice your nlp hypnosis abilities at the same time

now that is a headline: - )

well, how? as always, easy. i came up with this exercise, because a
former student of mine asked me about a way to practice his vakog
pacing ability without spending extra time.

for the sake of productivity, i cant make it no time though, you must
spend 2 minutes, at least. once.

here is the way to do it:

create an anchor that will remember you of the following very often. as
it should be really often, it may be something external, like a special
thing you take with you in your pocket (to feel it and remember
whenever you put your hand in) or something like putting a piece of
tape on your arm. tip: if you have a lot of hair, use a kind of band
you can remove easily. if not: i did warn you.)

the tape will annoy you any time you move your hand, so you will
remember all the time. there are a gozillion of ways to do this, these
are just two possible ways.

next, set the intention for, whenever you are in a conversation, to go
through the vakog circle, using each channel only once. e.g.:"i see.
did you hear about john? he kind of felt bad today. must have tasted
something bad yesterday. probably already smelled odd too."

do you see what i mean? some people say they get a much better feeling
for how to get the taste of this, when they poke their nose into a list
of vakog-specific predicates, before they are looking for victims.

you might get a sound quality if you do to. the more you do, the
sweeter it gets. kind of smells like roses after some time.

i know that when you take a look around, and listen to what people
around you are saying, you might get a slightly wired feeling, as they
might think what you are doing is tasteless, and the way you are
expressing yourself smells like roses today, butt you will evolve your
being even further by doing so.

if it was not obvious, i DID speak through the vakog circles through
the last few sentences. just to give you feel of how to go about it.
and even if you get a salty taste by what i am about to let you smell,
i am still showing you that listening to the words that your
unconscious hits you with will make you abilities as sweet as milton
h's were, you know, that old fart.

so, stop. did you feel the entrancing quality of these sentences? by
showing you that, i triggered your whole brain in a much more thorough
way than most people are used to.

and triggering the senses, especially the olfactory one by saying
things like "smells like spring flowers", and knowing that people cant
but respond with good and even better feelings, this leads listeners,
readers and bystanding feelers into a trance.

try it out. it is easy. if your trainers did not provide you with a
list of vakog-predicates in your practitioner or master courses, write
them a nice message, or write me one at pac1 a t gmx dot at, and i will
see if i have one around.

one of my former students is actually writing a programm right now,
that will mark out specific keywords in emai- ah, but that wouldnt
interest anyone.

in one of the next entries, i will show you how to use the nlp
technique of changing positions to come up with nlp business
strategies.
